Water for Everyone!

Last Monday I was able to go to Kyongera with the engineer to look at possible locations for new wells. We visited 5 water sources.

The first one we visited was quite encouraging. It had the cleanest water I have seen in Uganda. The water was clear! This was exciting news, but we knew that this discovery also put this location at the bottom of the list for wells. We traveled on to look at 4 other sites. Each of these water sources were terrible. Dirty stagnant water, tadpoles, other critters and algae were basically the makeup of all four of these sites.

The need for clean drinkable water is enormous here. The frightening fact is that many of the families that get their water from these sources fill up dirty "jerry cans" with it, go home and drink it without boiling. Some people that live this far out are unaware that water should not look like this. They are unaware that many of their illnesses are due to the water they drink. We located a few sites that would be great for shallow pump wells.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in raising funds for wells in Kyongera please visit www.knowthinkact.com! Thank you.

Be blessed,

Chris
